What to Wear to UNBOUND: The Corp Style Edit’s Guide to Conference Style

What to Wear to UNBOUND: The Corp Style Edit’s Guide to Conference Style

Meet your UNBOUND style guide.

Packing for a conference sounds simple, until you start thinking about everything those outfits actually need to do.

There are early coffee meetings, keynote sessions, miles of walking, customer conversations, dinners, drinks, and everything in between. The goal is to look put together without spending the entire day thinking about what you’re wearing.

Enter Meghann Keogh, Global Events’ resident style expert and creative behind The Corp Style Edit.

Ahead of UNBOUND, Meghann has been curating a series of style “Edits” designed to answer one very practical question: What should you pack?

Her approach combines polish with comfort and versatility, with looks designed for long conference days rather than just the photo op (although, those are important too). From travel-day essentials and all-day shoes to power dressing and easy day-to-night transitions, consider this your growing UNBOUND packing guide.

The Effortless Conference Style Edit

The idea: Build looks that can comfortably carry you from the first coffee meeting to the last cocktail.

Meghann proposes starting with elevated comfort rather than choosing between looking polished and feeling comfortable. Conference days are long and spent on your feet, so the best pieces should be able to keep up.

Think comfortable pumps, versatile separates, easy tailoring, and pieces that can move naturally between meetings, sessions, networking, and evening plans.

The recommendations:

  • Prioritize pieces you can comfortably wear for hours.
  • Build outfits around elevated, versatile staples rather than overly formal conference wear.
  • Choose pieces that can transition from daytime meetings to evening plans without requiring a complete outfit change.
  • Treat comfort as part of great style, not the alternative to it.

The Flats Edit

The idea: Your conference shoes need to survive the conference.

Anyone who has spent a full day at an event knows that footwear can make or break the experience. Between keynote sprints, show-floor laps, meetings, and dinners, UNBOUND calls for shoes that work as hard as you do.

For Meghann, the unsung hero of the conference wardrobe is simple: the perfect flat.

Meghann suggests choosing shoes that are comfortable enough for a full day of walking while still making an outfit feel intentional and polished. Forget the idea that conference dressing requires heels from 8 AM onward; the real win is still feeling great at 5 PM.

The recommendations:

  • Make all-day comfort non-negotiable.
  • Choose polished flats that complement your outfits instead of feeling like a backup shoe.
  • Think realistically about how much walking and standing happens during an event.
  • Break shoes in before UNBOUND rather than testing them for the first time onsite.

The Men’s Conference Style Edit

The idea: Elevated basics are the easiest route to looking sharp without feeling overdressed.

For men, Meghann advises building around pieces that feel polished enough for an executive conversation but relaxed enough for a day spent moving around the event.

That means giving traditional business casual a more contemporary update.

The recommendations:

  • A suede bomber in place of the standard blazer.
  • An elevated overshirt or shacket in corduroy, twill, or wool.
  • A heavyweight, premium T-shirt where fit takes center stage.
  • Dark, well-cut denim or tailored chinos.
  • Suede loafers or clean leather trainers.
  • Finish the look with a great watch and sunglasses.

For color, Meghann is leaning into mushroom grey, soft olive, stone, chocolate brown, and crisp white—a palette that makes mixing and matching easy.

The overall goal: timeless, understated, effortless.

The Power Dressing Edit

The idea: The power in power dressing comes from the person wearing the clothes.

Meghann’s take on the modern power suit moves beyond rigid corporate dressing. Instead, she advocates for versatile tailoring that feels confident, comfortable, and personal.

She champions choosing investment pieces that can do more than one job. A blazer can come back out with denim; tailored trousers can pair with a simple knit.

The recommendations:

  • High-waisted palazzo trousers with movement.
  • A beautifully tailored blazer.
  • A sleek high-neck knit or silk camisole underneath.
  • Gold hoops or layered chains for subtle polish.
  • Trainers for a contemporary edge, ballerina flats for understated elegance, or pointed mules when the occasion calls for something dressier.

A power suit shouldn’t be saved for one big meeting. Mix it, match it, and make it your own throughout the week at UNBOUND.

The Day-to-Night Edit

The idea: You probably don’t need to pack a second outfit.

When conference sessions turn into dinners and UNBOUND evening plans, Meghann encourages editing the look you’re already wearing rather than starting from scratch.

Keep the tailoring and shift the energy.

The recommendations:

  • Soften blazers and waistcoats for evening with satin skirts, lace layers, or more fluid silhouettes.
  • Pair wide- or straight-leg denim with a blazer or waistcoat, silk top, statement jewelry, and an evening shoe.
  • Trade daytime flats, pumps, or loafers for kitten heels, mules, or mesh ballerinas.
  • Downsize your bag and dial up your jewelry.
  • Use small beauty changes, like a different lip or hairstyle, to reset the entire look.

Sometimes the best evening outfit is already in your suitcase. It just needs a few strategic swaps.

The Travel Edit

The idea: Your UNBOUND wardrobe starts at the airport.

For attendees traveling farther to join us, Meghann’s latest Edit tackles what to wear (and what to keep within reach) while getting to UNBOUND.

For the flight, Meghann recommends layering, Birkenstocks, travel socks, comfy co-ords and those all important under eye hydration shields.

Then there’s the carry-on. Meghann’s list includes compression socks, a neck pillow, headphones, a good book, laptop, electrolytes, a water bottle, moisturizer, hand sanitizer, lip balm, under-eye masks, hydration spray, perfume, mints, and a hairbrush.

The recommendations:

  • Great jeans.
  • A blazer.
  • Tees and shirts.
  • A satin skirt or tailored trousers.
  • Versatile shoes that can go from the show floor to dinner.

And there’s one more important packing rule: leave some room in your suitcase for UNBOUND swag.

UNBOUND Packing: Make Everything Work Harder

Across Meghann’s Edits, one theme keeps coming back: pack smarter.

The best UNBOUND wardrobe is one where the pieces work together. The blazer you wear to a morning meeting can come out again over denim. The flat that carries you through the show floor should still hold up at dinner. And the daytime outfit you love shouldn’t need to be completely replaced when evening plans begin.

Comfort, versatility, and personal style can coexist.

So as you start laying everything out and wondering whether you really need that fourth pair of shoes, take a cue from Meghann: build around pieces that make you feel like yourself and can keep up with wherever UNBOUND takes you.
